Katie Pyne is an award-winning director, writer and multi-platform producer with 10 years of industry experience. Her directorial work encompasses unscripted & scripted series, documentary, narrative, music videos, and commercial/branded spots, with a focus on auto. The 6 part docuseries she created for Hyundai has been awarded as an innovative brand campaign, and continues to achieve real world impact. She’s also directed ads for game-changing brands like Amazon, Google, Adidas & Toyota.
Previously she was a network producer at Discovery Science Channel, where she made TV series and specials about fun things like aliens, outer space and unexplained phenomena. Some of her favorites include "Prophets Of Science Fiction With Ridley Scott," "Alien Encounters" and "The Unexplained Files."
Ms. Pyne got her start at CNN Special Investigations and Documentaries in Atlanta where she received a Peabody for coverage of the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster. She worked on "New Orleans Rising," "Rescued: Children of Haiti," "Latino in America" and more with Soledad O'Brien, "Generation Islam" with Christiane Amanpour, and produced live hits for AC360.
Right now she's excited about exploring different genres and visual storytelling techniques to surprise audiences with fresh perspectives. Her short suspense thriller will hit festivals later this year.
